Groups for Nov 2008 team projects presentations
- once you have a name for your group you can let me know and I will replace the "letter" with the group name
- groups listed in reverse order of when I received the information
- it is "OK" for more than one group to do a scenariou, there are 3 scenarios and 8 groups so it is expected that there will be 2 or 3 groups doing one case
- therefore you should try to "customize" your case and make it unique in order to explain "many kewl" applications of e-commerce and marketing in the information age

IT IS VERY important that you keep to the time limits posted so as to not run into the time allocated for another group
- if you think your "take down" time, or conclusions will cause you to run over, then shorten the main part
- in the "real world" corporate presenters are very tightly controlled for time and have to make "pitches" in a very short time
- the short amount of time is for 2 reasons
1 - there simply is not time available for a longer presentation - unless we spread this out over 3 classes and that would cut the time I have to "teach you"
2 - the "audience" has already made their decision on your capability in the first 1 or 2 minutes, going beyond 10 minutes is "bonus", but not likely to change opinion
- you will have 25 minutes - use it wisely

Watch my YouTube video to understand why

Part 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcuw9bMYgHY
(why this helps you in class, and in job hunting)

Part 2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tXadb6IsKI
( a story abut how I made money on the stock market cause I read the newspaper and learned about a particular company)

When Prof. Richardson asks you at the end of the class "did you learn something useful and interesting" - this is not an empty comment - it is a real attempt to make sure that every class is useful and something you can use in the "real world" to get a job, or create a job and make money.
So, to "give props" to one of my former students.. the logo to the right is from Lester Sabliano, a MGTD06 student several years ago who, with some friends, founded a Toronto based clothing company that is slowly becoming very popular - they have a great website and are steadily growing their product line
- you could do something like this too - just pay attention, do the readings and learn as much as you can

The calendar may say this is a 4 month course but in reality it is 2 1/2 months cause we only have 2 classes in Sept and no classes in Dec so everything is jam packed up in October and November
