The Premise Dateline is famous for creating "undercover" situations to expose criminal and unethical behaviour

In this 2007 episode (broadcast first in March 2007) Chris Hansen of Dateline NBC news uses a chatroom to watch how hackers trade ID information stolen from innocent victims, and then use that credit card info to make fraudulent purchases. Then they try to track down who those people are.

.

Accompanying website Dateline, like most TV news programs, has an accompanying website on which you can review the segments that made up this episode.

The website (current in Nov 2007) is here

The

"playaz"

and who got

"played"

BTW - when you view the first segment of the episode, you'll meet a guy "Jeff Ball" who got tricked by a woman (Wendy Kenson) he met on the internet. Jeff was conned into believing Wendy wanted to marry him.

This is a pic which "Wendy" sent to Jeff

This is Jeff

Does this "match" look real to you !!!!!!!!

The trick involved Jeff agreeing to receive goods fraudulently bought with stolen credit cards, then shipping these to "Wendy"

It turns out that Jeff is a real guy who just didn't know this was happening to him.
He was written about in the local paper in the small town in New York state in which he lived.

Who is Wendy
so, who was the "Wendy" in the dateline story?

Google searches in Nov 2007 reveal very little information, which may or may not be accurate

So sources say it was a photo from a European "adult" website of a "model" who goes by the name "Angel"
