ONLINE CLASS
Int'l Business Management

A 3rd year undergraduatecourse in the Division of Management,  University of Toronto at Scarborough
.updated 2006 March 08
.

. The purpose of the online class is to allow you time to prepare for the Final Exam- which will include a big question on exporting You should use the time in the online class to research a company which you could know well for a question on exporting - see further explanation at
 www.witiger.com/universityoftoronto/MGTC44/MGTC44examprep.htm
.
You may want to re-look at the unit onnsources of info which is used to show you how to get information for international business.

We call it an online class because most of the information you seek will be online so it makes sense to give you some time to do this by taking out one of our attended classes and giving you time for the research (you're welcome).

If you have any doubts about your selection of a particular company, you may email me and I will "pronounce judgement" - that is to say I'll say "ya, good choice, do it", or "no, the company sucks, it would be too hard to get info"

Good Luck

For the final and the mid-term exam, you would be advised to read the newspapers on a regular basis, check the site http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/canadexport/menu-en.asp and using canadaexport and newspapers you should research the intl export/import activities of a medium/larged sized Canadian company so that you might be able to answer a long exam question. Remember there is no text for the course, so in lieu of reading the text, the equivalent time should be spend reading the newspapers and the recommended websites.
.
You may also want to study information from CanadExport since it can lead you to finding a good company for the FDI question on the Mid-term and the Exporting Question on the Final Exam.
