Minor Test 20%

M-Choice Media #1 Quiz 5%
Mid-Term 30%

M-Choice Media #2 Quiz 5%
Final Exam 40%

* when a low number of students allows there to be a Team Project, instead of a Final Exam, the date of the Mid-Term will be moved into the 3rd month from the 2nd month
** when a low number of students permits, there will be a Team Project and presentation in class instead of a final exam

Minor Test - 20% - covers Section A +  some of Section B (depending on the progress of the lectures in a particular term)
- emphasis on Section A

m-choice media quiz # 1 - 5% - covers the beginning part of the course
a short list of multiple choice questions re: international business things re: the topics in C44
- the purpose is to have some way of measuring the requirement that students keep up-to-date with current events in "international business management"
- to do well in this students need to read the newspapers on a regular basis
- the questions will cover events and companies that are Canadian, or things that effect Canadian international business
- most of the questions will come from major stories - nothing really really obscure
- usually this little quiz (sub-set of the Mid-term) will be given at the end of the class in which we have the Class Debate
- a sample was given in the 3rd class so you would know what these are like

Major Test - 30% (a.k.a. Mid-Term) - covers Section B (sometimes C too)  + part of Section A

m-choice media quiz # 2 - 5% - covers the end part of the course
a quiz in the last half of the last class
- a short list of multiple choice questions re: international business things re: the topics in C44
- the purpose is to have some way of measuring the requirement that students keep up-to-date with current events in "international business management"
- to do well in this you need to read the newspapers on a regular basis, some students also listen to the news radio, like 680 News and others make sure they watch the national TV newscasts a few times a week
- the questions will cover events and companies that are Canadian, or things that effect Canadian international business - being successful in "international business management" requires a serious attention to current events and news effecting your business sector and the economy
- most of the questions will come from major stories - nothing really really obscure
- usually this little quiz (sub-set of the Final) will be given at the end of the class in the last class of the course

Final Exam - 40% - covers the entire course, with an emphasis on the end of the course
(includes a special Question on the export activities of a Canadian company)
b
the 40% is broken down into

30%
the actual Final
- essay answer questions done in the gym, or some designated room
- usually the time alloted is 3 hours
10%
the take home assignment about Exporting
- you will be given details about how to research a Canadian company involved in exporting and write out a long answer on 3 pages to hand in the day of the Final exam
- it needs to be clearly understood that, historically,  some students research this particular assignment very very well so you are accordingly advised to keep this "competitive environment" in mind
.

When it is the case that the number of students in the class allows for a more interactive teaching / learning environment
we will have a Final Team Project and Presentation instead of a Final Exam

Final Team Project - 40% - covers the entire course
b
the 40% is broken down into

15% Team Project Presentation in class about the circumstances of a Canadian exporter

Presentation Tips

25% Team Project (the written portion) about the circumstances of a Canadian exporter
